General notes:

The governor can act only on legislation that has been passed by the legislature. Therefore, the governor's scorecard lists only CHVL's high-priority legislation that was passed by both the state Senate and the state House of Representatives.
Effective in 2001, CHVL also tracks petition-related legislation. However, there was no CHVL high-priority petition-related legislation during this session.

It would also prohibit a person convicted of cruelty to animals or aggravated cruelty to animals from owning an animal after the conviction. HB06-1132	This bill would appropriate funds from the sale of an animal whose owner is convicted of cruelty to animals to the impound agency to pay for the care of the animal, and would appropriate any remaining funds to the impound agency or, if the Department of Agriculture is the impound agency, to the state's Animal Protection Fund.
